Beauty Tried And Tested: The Best Cream Blushers
Want a new blush to complement the changing winter colours? Then LOOK is here to help. Today our very own Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner and LOOK reader Joanna Harper have put four transitional cream blushers to the test...
Beauty Editor: The creamy texture smoothes over cheeks perfectly, filling and hiding any open pores (ideal for oilier skin types). A bright orange colour that’s one for the cool kids – it would look mega-hot teamed with a cobalt-blue eyeshadow. Joanna: Although I quite I liked this blusher, it didn’t have a built-in mirror, which was a shame. The colour was slightly more daring than I would normally go for, but it brightened up my skin instantly. Beauty score: 3/5
Beauty Editor: Such a subtle colour, it could get lost on darker skintones, but it looks amazing on porcelain beauties. The slight shimmer makes skin look more awake – great for the morning after the night before. Joanna: I found the colour a little wishy-washy for my skintone, so I had to layer it up a lot to make it visible on my cheeks. It worked great as a glossy eyeshadow, though! Beauty score: 2/5
- Yves Saint Laurent Crème De Blush in 3, £29
Beauty Editor: This is the perfect blusher for die-hard bronzer addicts. The two-tone pink and brown means you can still keep the tan, while welcoming a warm rosy glow. Joanna: This blusher is great; I love the subtle colour. You only need a small amount and it lasts for ages, which is great considering how expensive it is. Well worth the splurge! Beauty score: 4/5
- Une Breezy Cheeks Blush in Blush Grand Air, £8.99
Beauty Editor: This would suit almost every skintone. A wearable classic blusher with a great built-in mirror for touch-ups on the go. Joanna: This is my new favourite blush – the colour and texture is perfect for my paler winter skin. I loved the packaging too, it was so easy to open and I could use it anywhere without causing a mess. Beauty score: 5/5
