Beauty Tried And Tested: The Best Candy Nail Polish
Beauty Tried And Tested: The Best Candy Nail Polish Want to know what the best candy-coloured nail polishes are on the high street? LOOK is here to help... this week our very own Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner and LOOK reader Jessica Joseph have put a selection to the test...
- Barry M Nail Paint in Pink Flamingo, £2.95
Beauty Editor: “I loved this coral shade. It went with everything I wore and was virtually invincible. Rock it with a matching lip for the ultimate colour pop.” Jessica: “This needed two coats to make the colour stand out. My favourite colour of the bunch and definitely in my suitcase for summer holidays.” Beauty score: 5/5
- Stargazer Nail Polish in 222, £2
Beauty Editor: “I’m a bit lilac-obsessed at the moment and this one’s going in my collection right now. Spot on for spring and it even looked cool when it chipped a bit.” Jessica: “This gave an even finish, but it took a while to dry properly. I really liked the colour, so I’d definitely wear it again.” Beauty score: 4/5
- Models Own Nail Polish in Lemon Meringue, £5
Beauty Editor: “Yellow is always a hit with me and this creamy shade is on the money for 2010’s pastel super-trend. Give it an extra coat for a smoother finish.” Jessica: “This went on easily, but I found it hard to get an even finish. I was impressed at how fast it dried and I really liked the unusual lemon colour.” Beauty score: 3/5
- Nails Inc Nail Polish in Spring Mews, £10.50
Beauty Editor: “This one’s just blue enough to stop it looking witchy and I only needed one coat. Best for dark skintones though, I’m not sure I got away with it.” Jessica: “I found this a little gloopy to put on, but it did dry within minutes. The colour turned out just as it looks in the bottle and it was very hardwearing.” Beauty score: 2/5
