Yep, you read that correctly. Apparently, you can apply your foundation flawlessly – with a SOCK.
Mayra – of the YouTube channel MayraTouchOfGlam – was the one to tell us about this, er, interesting trend.
She’s revealed that she’s been using the clothing item to apply her foundation instead of a brush.
In a video on her page, she explains that she was going through her socks when she decided that the cushion of the heel would be perfect as an applicator.
So how exactly does she create her base? Well, turning the sock inwards to create a ball-shaped spongy applicator, she buffs the foundation into her skin. And to her credit, it results in a surprisingly flawless and non-streaky finish.
Even better, the sock doesn’t absorb the foundation, despite being made from cotton.
She even uses it to buff her contour and bake her face – talk about multipurpose!
According to Mayra, when you’re done with the sock all you have to do is throw it in the wash.
I think you’ll agree with us that it’s much easier than cleaning make up brushes. ☹
However, the key to this hack is that there has to be cushioning on the heel or toes, so keep that in mind before you raid your sock drawer.
