Amy Schumer has hit back at claims she went too far with her Taylor Swift ‘thigh gap’ joke.
The 34-year-old took to Instagram to address her critics, donning a cropped blonde wig and working a fake drawn-on beard.
‘That’s not a beard this is a beard’, she wrote. ‘So sorry to anyone with a beard this may offend. I am a comic and should never make fun of myself at the expense of anyone else that I wasn’t making fun of in the first place. #relax #beard.’
The day before, Amy had fans saying she’d gone a step too far with an Instagram snap that appeared to call out Taylor.
As we know, Taylor Swift rocked up to the Grammys in a thigh-baring orange Versace crop top, bright pink knickers and a front split skirt which flashed her incredible pins.
But a day after the ceremony, Schumer seemed to be laying into Swifty with a sarcastic ‘thigh gap’ Instragram post.
The 34-year-old shared a photo of her on the beach in a bikini, which seemed to call out Taylor’s slim figure.
‘Taylor that’s not a thigh gap. This is a thigh gap,’ Amy captioned the image.
We’re sure she just meant it to be funny, but fans didn’t see it that way, and accused of her body shaming another woman.
‘Why? Why? Like honestly how it any different if you making fun of someone fat vs making fun of some skinny. Every body has a different bone structure. I’m glad your proud of you body and that great but to make you proud your putting down someone else’, one user commented.

‘When you think being funny is when you body shame someone, it’s time for a new job’, blasted another.
It’s not the first time the Trainwreck actress has appeared to make a dig at another woman’s body shape.
Back last October, she made a few jokes about Khloe Kardashian’s recent weight loss.
Amy tweeted: ‘Khloe was ours, right? Whenever there’s a group of women, you identify with one of them, right? Khloe, she lost half her body weight. She lost a Kendall, and we have nothing.’
And Khloe responded, replying that Amy shouldn’t ‘tear down others just 2 make urself feel bigger.’
Is it simply Amy’s cheeky sense of humour, or should she tone down the body jokes? Let us know below…
