Ready to fast forward to 2017?

Chrome Nails

High-shine nails with a mirror-like finish are going to be hot for 2017. There are a few ways to get this look, some more complicated than others. We’re fans of a simple polish technique, layering Models Own’s Colour Chrome Silver to get the desired finish.

Heat-Free Styling

Straighteners, hair dryers and tongs all get a much-needed break next year because heat-free styling is a thing. Yes, your poor follicles can rejoice and use the time to regain their health. Simply wash, add in your preferred styling cream or leave-in conditioner then leave to dry naturally. This easy new hair trend means we will also be able to spend a bit more time in bed in the morning. Ideal.

Microblading

We first told you about this clever technique back in September but next year microblading looks set to sky rocket. If you have sparse brows and have always longed for a pair of Delevingne-esque bushes, this semi-permanent tattooing trend is for you.

Charcoal

No, we’re not pulling your leg. Charcoal will be a major part of your beauty routine in ’17. Thanks to its super detoxifying properties, pore shrinking powers and easy way it soaks up yucky excess oil, the black stuff is in demand.

Tony Moly

Korean beauty products enjoyed a major boom in 2016 thanks to their clever formulas and cute packaging. One of our fave discoveries is Tony Moly, a Korean beauty brand whose products match their packaging for wonderfulness. The Egg Pore Silky Smoothing Balm is a primer that smoothes and tightens the complexion, creating a flawless base.

Braided Buns

Throwing your hair up into a plain top knot isn’t going to cut it next year. Instead beauty fans will be spending time creating intricate braids, woven into their buns for extra style points.

Deciem’s The Ordinary

The newest addition to The Ordinary range is Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. This light-textured formula contains an extremely high 5% concentration of caffeine, supplemented with highly-purified Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside (EGCG) from green tea leaves. Independent studies have shown that topical use of caffeine and/or EGCG can help reduce the look of puffiness and dark circles in the eye contour. Additional studies have shown that caffeine can also reduce the appearance of cellulite. ($6.70 CAD, £5.80, €6.70)

Already a hit on Instagram, Deciem’s affordable skincare line delivers in product and looks super smart on your bathroom shelf. The Ordinary’s formulas are packed with smart science including retinoids and matrixyl, these products will rejuvenate your face without breaking the bank. Our favourite beauty combo.

Kat Von D

We’re already completely obsessed with the tattooed make up queen after a year of fun launches. Kat, who like to tease new products on Instagram, will be launching a Pastel Goth Palette in 2017 and we predict a sell-out.

Hair might be going down a more natural route but the same doesn’t apply to our eyes. Cut-crease shadow is already huge on Pinterest and will no doubt be everywhere early next year. It’s a way of making a neutral-toned eye look intense and dramatic and we’re into it.
