Nivea SOS Lip Balm
Nivea SOS Lip Balm06 November 2008

If your lips are feeling the winter blues already, then you need Niveas new balm.
If you're young and single and looking for a winter romance or if your lucky enough to have a man to pucker up to, then we suggest you get your lips in top tip condition with Niveas SOS balm. The new lip balm is not called the first aid for lips for nothing as after suffering from a nasty cold and facing the freezing temperatures we found this product to be a godsend. Our dry and chapped lips had a makeover as it provided immediate relief from the cracks and left our mouths soft and kissable. We also took this balm on a winter holiday and found it perfect for keeping our lips moisturised - it was also great for our natural beach look, as it provided a light shimmer too. Golden Globes Beauty Tribe One: The Hollywood Siren
Hollywood’s leading ladies showcased an amazing array of dresses at the Golden Globes last night but in the hair and make-up stakes, the red carpet was divided. First Up: The Hollywood Siren – Cameron Diaz, Heather Graham, January Jones and Maggie Gyllenhaal were all slicked to perfection with a striking red lip and hair pulled tightly back of the face – full of drama and a definite nod to old school glamour. - JH

Golden Globes Beauty Tribe Two: Girlie Glamour
Leona Lewis, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock and Emily Blunt opted for a playful look (over the more structured Hollywood Siren look sported by January Jones and Cameron Diaz) with hair worn in relaxed waves. Makeup consisted of an on-trend lilac smoked eye teamed with a peachy flush and a lightly glossed nude pink lip. We’re not sure which look we loved more - The Hollywood Siren or Girlie Glamour - but with Spring makeup collections hitting stores this month, we’ll be trying out both!- JH

Drew Barrymore And Kate Hudson Go Nude At The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2010
Drew Barrymore and Kate Hudson joined forces at the Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards 2010 this week sporting what can only be described as the perfect 1960s nude lip. A welcome relief from the sea of scarlet pouts usually dominating the red carpets, this fleshy tone is not only tons easier to apply, it suits all skin tones and will go with all your new spring/summer 2010 wardrobe buys! - KS

Chanel Lipstick Preview
Us LOOK girls like to stay ahead of the beauty game and when we got the latest gossip from the Chanel Haute Couture 2010 show this week, we couldn’t wait to share it.
Whilst others were distracted by the grey streaks in models’ hair (a new hairstyle trend that Kate Moss was snapped with in Paris), we were drawn to the gorgeous peachy orange lips. A softer, girlier version of this season’s statement lip but still with enough pop to freshen up even the most tired of complexions. And turns out, the lipstick is a brand new shade called Genial that’s launching this summer as an addition to the Rouge Allure line. Hooray! It's probably the only couture that most of us will ever own so get ready: we predict a waiting list frenzy! - JH

Beauty Tried And Tested: The Best Lip Exfoliators
Want to know what the best beauty products are before you buy? LOOK is here to help... this week our very own Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner and LOOK reader Katie Legg have put a selection of lip exfoliators to the test.
Beauty Editor: At first, I didn’t notice that this was exfoliating because the grains were so tiny, but it totally transformed my lips after a few minutes. Amazing. Katie: I suffer from dry, cracked lips and found a thin layer of this product was immensely hydrating. It also smelt so good I could eat it! Beauty Score: 5/5
Beauty Editor: Totally brilliant for heavy-duty buffing and it left my lips ultra-smooth. I found it hard to get off, though, as the grains really stuck to my lips. Katie: I applied a small amount of this product, but found the consistency too coarse. It left my lips feeling a little sore afterwards. Beauty Score: 3/5
- Philosophy Kiss Me Exfoliating Lip Scrub And Facial, £10
Beauty Editor: Like a facial for my lips. This removed any dead skin without making me feel delicate and I could apply lippy instantly. Katie: A gentle exfoliator that left my lips really soft and completely smooth. I’ll definitely keep this in my handbag so my pout always looks as perfect as possible. Beauty Score 4/5
- Jemma Kidd Perfect-Pout Exfoliating Treatment Balm, £8
Beauty Editor: This is super-clever. One half exfoliates your lips and the other conditions them. This is great for kissable lips on that last-minute date! Katie: I really liked this product. It made my lips feel soft and luscious. It was also an excellent primer for my lipstick, which lasted for ages. Beauty Score: 4/5

Beauty Tried And Tested: The Best Pink Shimmer Lipsticks
Want to know what the best beauty products are before you buy? LOOK is here to help... this week our very own Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner and LOOK reader Rebecca Thorogood have put pink shimmer lipsticks to the test...
Beauty Editor: I liked that this was subtle, rather than a full-on sparkle. The rounded tip wasn’t great for getting a clean line, so use a brush – it’s what the pros do! Rebecca: This went on smoothly and only needed one coat. It was bright, girlie and gave a gorgeous finish. The perfect holiday lippy. Beauty Score: 4/5
- Laura Mercier Shimmer Lip Colour in Camellia, £16
Beauty Editor: This shocking pink comes out even brighter on your lips and the sheen finish guarantees a high-impact pout. Attention-seeking at its best! Rebecca: Wow. What a bright, lip-popping colour! Although it was the most matt one it didn’t dry out my lips, but it did smudge easily. Beauty Score: 3/5
- ArtDeco Avant Garde Shimmer Lipstick in Fresh Fuchsia Shimmer, £14
Beauty Editor: A coral pink that looked like it was full of thousands of tiny crystals. It was ultra-moisturising but smudged easily so a good lip liner is a must. Rebecca: This felt slightly oily and I needed a few coats to stand out. The shimmer was pretty though. Beauty Score: 2/5
- Avon Ultra Colour Rich Mega Impact Lipstick in Fuchsia Fun, £5
Beauty Editor: I loved this foxy pink, packed with shimmer – spot-on for autumn’s glitter lips trend. The angular tip makes it easy to apply too. Rebecca: This was very bright so the shimmer finish looked great. It felt soft and the colour stayed put. Beauty Score: 5/5
